International Women's Day
International Women's Day

As we mark International Women's Day, at Forcite we’re taking a moment to recognise the amazing women who are changing the game in the motorcycling world and also announce our International Female Ride Day Event. Let’s get together to celebrate women who break barriers and inspire others to hop on two wheels.

From trailblazers like Bessie Stringfield, who rode her motorcycle across the United States in the 1930s, to contemporary riders like Sinje Gottwald, who traveled over 12,000 miles the length of Africa with her Cake e-bike and Forcite MK1S, or Kate Peck, the current President of Motorcycle NSW, women have been making their mark on motorcycling culture and industry.

But it's not just about breaking records and stereotypes. Female riders are also creating positive changes within the motorcycling community. Many have founded groups to promote safety, inclusivity, and support for other.

Vikki Van Someren is the owner and co-founder of Bike Shed, a London-based motorcycle club, and lifestyle brand. What started as a small gathering of motorcycle enthusiasts in a local pub, has now grown into a thriving business that includes a cafe, event space, and retail store, as well as a hugely popular online presence.

Along with her husband “Dutch”, Vikki's vision for the Bike Shed was to create a community that would celebrate and support the diversity of motorcycling, providing a welcoming and inclusive environment for all riders.

She has worked tirelessly to create a space where women and other underrepresented groups feel comfortable and valued in a traditionally male-dominated industry.

Vikki's passion for motorcycling and her commitment to creating a more inclusive and sustainable community make her a true inspiration for anyone interested in the sport. Her dedication and hard work have not only made the Bike Shed a success but have also helped to pave the way for a more diverse and welcoming future for motorcycling.

At Forcite, our team of design engineers are working on projects that put women at the centre of the design process, from tailored helmet sizes to technology that fits the needs of modern female riders. We’ve a future R&D pipeline that we’re excited to share closer to launch.

As we celebrate International Women's Day, we invite all women who are passionate about motorcycling to join us for the upcoming International Female Ride Day on May 7th. This is a day where women from all over the world come together to celebrate their love for motorcycling. It is an opportunity to showcase our strength, skills, and passion for the sport.

We welcome all female riders, regardless of their level of experience, to join us on the day at our Forcite HQ in Alexandria. Sign up below and we’ll soon share event details and route.
